Darjeeling Tour Itinerary for 7 Days 6 Nights

BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI – GANGTOK. (GANGTOK TOUR ITINERARY)

Arrival at Bagdora Airport/New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Here is our Sikkim-Gangtok- Darjeeling travel tour itinerary. You’ll be transported to Gangtok (114kms/4.5hrs). Situated at an altitude of 5500ft, Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, a lovely and clean town houses some of the best monasteries and invigorating landscapes. Spend the evening for leisure and individual activities. Stay overnight at the hotel.

TRAVEL TP TSOMGO LAKE& BABAR MANDIR (NEW)

Head for a day trip to Tsomgo Lake (1240 ft.), separated by a distance of 32km from Gangtok city. The lake, which is nearly 1km long, 15m deep, and shape-wise oval, is revered by the local people. There’s a temple, ‘Baba Mandir’, dedicated to the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh, hailed as the “Hero of Nathula” by the jawans of the Indian army. Spend the evening for shopping and individual activities at Gangtok.

(GANGTOK TO PEMAYANGTSE) – PELLING TOUR ITINERARY

Early-morning trip to Pemayangste (123kms/6.5hrs). Pemayangste is a very small hamlet in West Sikkim. Pelling is a small town in Sikkim, located at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga which is the third highest peak in the world. Take a panoramic view of Khangchendzonga and Eastern Himalayan range all day long until sunset.

PEMAYANGTSE LOCAL SIGHTSEEING (9.00 AM TO 5.00 PM) 

Breakfast followed by a full-day sightseeing in and around the town of Pemayangste, covering the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Rimbi Falls, Pemayangste Monastery, Darap Village, Rabdenste Ruins, Rimbi Rock Garden and Khangchendzonga Lake. The Pemayangste Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the state. Spend the evening for leisure and individual activities.

PEMAYANGTSE TO DARJEELING 

Travel to Darjeeling (128km/5hrs).  Darjeeling was the erstwhile summer capital of the British in India, and is a land of mesmerising beauty and charm. Tetete with nature and the congenial locals of the Himalayan range.  Darjeeling is also the land of Dorje, one of the main ritual objects of Tantric Buddhism.  Surrounded by gorgeous tea estates, this little town covers some of the tallest peaks of Himalayas. Relax and then take a stroll around the town to absorb the new culture and strike balance between different cultures. Stay overnight at the hotel.

SIGHTSEEING AT DARJEELING THREE POINTS (4 AM TO 7AM) & BEST POINTS (9.30 AM TO 5.30 PM) 

Morning starts with a visit to the Tiger Hill to gaze at the lovely sight of the sunrise and its hallucinating effects on Mt.Kanchendzonga.  Then, visit popular touring destinations including Batashia Loop War Memorial and Ghoom Monastery. Return to the hotel for breakfast followed by the local best points for sightseeing covering Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Padmaja N. Zoological Garden (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate & Japanese Peace Pagoda. Take a walk to the nearest local market (Closed on Thursday), and visit the Mall Road. Spend the evening for shopping and individual activities. Stay overnight at the hotel.

TRAVEL FROM DARJEELING – BAGDOGRA / NEW JALPAIGURI. 

Early morning travel to Bagdogra Airport/ New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (95km/3hrs). Tour concludes.
