Traveling from PARO AIRPORT – THIMPU Distance: (65 km /2 hrs.)

 

Our Representative will Receive you warmly at Paro Airport and transport you to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. Thimpu is at an altitude of 7,710 ft./2350 mts. Check-in at the hotel. You can explore the exotic beauty of Thimpu by walking and Unwind for the night at the hotel.

Thimphu sightseeing

After a delicious breakfast, you would visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), one of the iconic landscapes of Bhutan, Folk heritage museum, and National Memorial charten. You can explore the other famous places such as Changangkha Monastery, Sangaygang View Point, Takin Preserve Centre, and Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion) in the afternoon peacefully. Peaceful overnight stay at the hotel.

Trip to Punakha /Wangdue (Distance 76km one-way/Driving Time: 3 hours)

 

Enjoy the breakfast, followed by a trip to Punakha /Wangdue.

 

It is a joyful ride of three hours. Punakha is at an altitude of 1310 meters. It was the capital of Bhutan and seat of power until 1955. Visit Pungthang Dewachen Phodrang, called the Palace of Great Happiness. It is the Winter residence of Bhutan’s Central Monastic Body. Visit other places such as Ritsha and Mochhu.Return for the overnight stay at the hotel in Thimpu.

Thimphu to Paro (Distance: 65 km /2 hrs)  paro Bhutan sightseeing

 

Relish your Breakfast. Drive to Paro, which is at an elevation of 2280 meters. Visit the Tamchog Lhakhang, which is in between Thimpu and Paro, and it was built by Thangthong Gyalpom, commonly known as “the Iron Bridge Builder,” along the way to Pano. The Tamchog Lhakhang temple, which sits atop a hill, can only be reached by crossing an ancient-style bridge. Arrival in Paro and hotel check-in. Visit Ta Dzong – National Museum in the afternoon, which houses a vast collection of art and antiquities, including religious thangkha, relics, and so on. Later, pay a visit to the Rinpung Dzong, or “fortress of the mound of jewels,” which serves as Paro’s administrative and judicial headquarters. Stay in Paro for the night.

Package Highlights

Bhutan Permit:

No visa is required for Indian citizens to visit Bhutan. You can obtain the permit at the entry point by providing the passport or Voter ID and 04 passport size photographs. 

Restricted Area Permit for Punakha / Wangdue:

To visit Punakha / Wangdue, a Restricted Area Permit from Bhutan’s Home Ministry is necessary.
There will be no fee for this permit. Each person, including children, should carry two passport-size photographs along with their voter ID card or passport. One can acquire this special permit only after they enter Bhutan. Permits are not declared on Saturdays, Sundays & Govt. holidays.

DO’S:
  • Adults must have a valid passport or a valid voter identification card. Original and valid passports or original birth certificates, as well as a school photo ID card, are required for children.
  • Remember to pack additional items according to the season and your specific needs (including hiking shoes).
  • Please verify with your mobile service provider for roaming charges in Bhutan.
DON’TS
  • The use of Tobacco & Tobacco products is illegal in Bhutan. 
  • Taking plants and agricultural products out of Bhutan is a punishable offense
  • credit cards will be accepted in selected places in Bhutan.
  • Drones are prohibited in Bhutan.
  • You cannot take photos inside the temples and Dzongs
