One of South India’s most favourite summer hill stations and weekend escape destinations, Ooty’s specialities include the world-famous Ooty Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that starts from the town of Mettupalayam in Coimbatore.
Kodaikanal: One of the most mesmerizing hill stations in the state, also called the Princess of Hill Station. Located in the district of Dindigul, at a height of 7000ft, it is still unpolluted and comparatively crowd-free during off seasons. Yelagiri: Nestled in-between Vaniyambadi and Jolarpettai in the district of Vellore, Yellagiri is made of 14 hamlets that lies at an altitude of 3500 ft. Though not as crowd-packed as Ooty or Kodaikanal, Yelagiri offers a number of high-adrenaline pumping activities like trekking, paragliding, boating, etc. Tourist attractions at Yelagiri include Nature Park, Velavan Temple and Jalagamparai Waterfalls.
