Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering approximately 150,000 hectares. It is situated on the Tonkin Gulf in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh. Cat Ba Island is located approximately 50 kilometres east of Hai Phong and is the largest and most visited of the 366 islands in the Lan Ha and Ha Long bays.
